Coronation Street star has joined the cast of Doctor Who in an 'exciting and unforgettable' episode - 11 years after leaving the soap
The British actor is no stranger to the Whoniverse, having voiced characters in several Doctor Who Big Finish audio dramas.
Speaking about his new role on the show, Charlie expressed his excitement to the BBC: 'I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the Whoniverse, having been a fan for so long, and finally getting a chance to work with the legend that is Russell T Davies! The actor, 52, who portrayed Marcus Dent on Coronation Street from 2007 to 2014, is no stranger to the Whoniverse, having voiced characters in several Doctor Who Big Finish audio dramas (L-R Antony Cotton, Charlie, and Samia Longchambon on the soap) Charlie will follow in the footsteps of his former Coronation Street co-stars Bruno Langley, Sarah Lancashire and Millie Gibson - who plays the current Time Lord’s sidekick, Ruby Sunday.
