Coronation Street star addresses 'disappointment' as character killed off screen
Former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has opened up about her character Katy Armstrong being killed off after she left the ITV soap
However, in an unexpected twist, it was later revealed during a phone call scene with her sister Izzy Armstrong, played by Cherylee Houston, that Katy had tragically died in a car crash in 2017. Since then, Katy's son Joseph has returned to the UK and is now staying with his dad Chesney Brown, played by Sam Aston, and stepmum Gemma Winter, a character brought to life by Dolly-Rose Campbell. Georgia, who once popped up as Jess Burrows on Coronation Street back in 2010, finished by saying: "I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to have played not only one but two roles in the show.
