Coronation Street viewers were caught off-guard as fan favourite Ayla Nazir made a surprise exit from the ITV soap, despite having recently struck up a new romance
Ayla Nazir, played by actress Sair Khan, left the cobbles in a taxi in an understated departure, which aired during Wednesday's episode. Viewers had been expecting Ayla to leave due to Sair's pregnancy, but her departure happened with little fanfare and she was quietly waved off by her gran Yasmeen. On the other hand, Adam's marriage to Sarah Barlow ( Tina O'Brien) recently ended after she left him for Damon Hays (Ciarán Griffiths).
