Coronation Street legend breaks silence as he leaves ITV soap after three years

Coronation Street actor Bill Fellows, who has played chef Stu Carpenter on the soap for three years, appears in his last episode on Monday before his character heads to Germany

Actor Bill Fellows, who has starred in Coronation Street for three years as chef Stu Carpenter, says a final goodbye to Weatherfield during the episode on Monday 14 October. After having risked both his relationship with Yasmeen and her Speed Dahl business in his attempt to mentor troubled teen Mason, Stu tells his girlfriend he has decided to leave the cobbles permanently to reconnect with granddaughter Eliza in Germany. While Bill has quite a few projects lined up, including appearances in a new BBC sitcom called Smoggie Queens with Mark Benton and a film with Stephen Tompkinson about low level gangsters in Middlesborough, the actor is pleased that Stu hasn’t been killed off, and the door has been left open for a possible return to Weatherfield for the chef in the future.
