Coronation Street Debbie star Sue Devaney lifts lid on secret neurodiversity struggle

Sue Devaney has been on and off the cobbles as Kevin Webster's sister Debbie since 1984, but she could soon be set for an emotional exit as Debbie's dementia ordeal begins.

The actress, 57, who first graced the cobbles 41 years ago, is set for turmoil as Debbie Webster navigates a challenging storyline involving vascular dementia. She shares that a support worker from Dementia UK informed her that many women mistake their symptoms for menopause and don't seek testing. Debbie is prompted to seek medical help after experiencing transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), often referred to as mini-strokes, where a temporary reduction in blood flow to the brain leads to cognitive impairment.
