Coronation Street boss predicts second cobbles legend will quit after Helen Worth's shock exit


Coronation Street fans are fearing the worst for the iconic soap after Gail Platt actress Helen Worth confirmed her departure - and one soap boss fears another legend could follow

Coronation Street veteran Helen Worth, known for playing the cobbles' Gail Platt for the last 50 years, is preaping to say goodbye to Weatherfield, much to the shock of the soap's fans. Expressing his thoughts on a live stream on Thursday evening, accomplished soap writer Daran Little - who's contributed to both Corrie and BBC One's EastEnders over the years - pondered whether Audrey - played by Sue Nicholls, 80 - would stick around after Helen's exit. Though quick to disclaim he had "no insider knowledge", Daran mused: "My gut feeling is Sue [Nicholls, who plays Audrey Roberts] won't want to stay long without Helen.
