Cord Jefferson will receive the Writers Guild of America West’s 2024 Paul Selvin Award for penning the screenplay for “ American Fiction.” He will receive the honor at the 2024 Writers Guild Awards on Sunday, April 14, held at the Hollywood Palladium. Jefferson adapted the script from the book “Erasure” by Percival Everett and also served as director on “American Fiction.” Among several honor honors for his film, Jefferson recently earned an Academy Award for best adapted screenplay on March 10. The film received critical acclaim was nominated for four other Oscars, including best picture.
