Double-dose of Brazilian genre, current political issues and stories of conniving men dominate Content Americas pitch centerpiece

Argentina’s Listos Para Rodar arrives in Miami with a documentary series on the mental and physical toll of being a professional athlete in “Insane” while its neighboring country of Brazil bets on the potential of a high-concept sci-fi franchise with Bactéria Filmes and Druzina Content’s “Tales of Tomorrow: Prelude to a Revolution” and the modern Western with Cinefilm’s “The Guardians.” The series follows the titular character, who lives in disguise as a bricklayer in Paris but is, in reality, the man responsible for the largest network of traveler’s check counterfeiters, which endangers the stability of the First National City Bank of America. “It has all the necessary elements: the action takes place in Paris at the beginning of the ‘80s, the CIA, Scotland Yard, and high-profile French personalities participate in the investigation, and the protagonist is a Spanish exile and anarchist of a kind, charismatic character.”
