It’s clear that there are two Jos, and our Jo landed in the timeline where she was kind of a shit to her family.
When Jo spies the piano and feels drawn to sit down even though she knows she doesn’t play, a moment of pure bodily horror unfolds when her hands begin to dart across the keys with skillful precision. Honestly, though, this terrible woman is probably part of the larger cover-up, but it seems odd that the ESA wouldn’t coordinate efforts to try to hide the fact that lithium-7 and the “Star City Vitamins” are one and the same. She has a fight with both Frederic (ew) and Magnus about her mental state, and as everyone is chilling out from that altercation, she finds a package addressed to her with tapes claiming to contain recordings of when she was alone on the ISS.
