Conan O’Brien’s Mark Twain Prize Ceremony Doubled as a Roast of Trump’s Kennedy Center
Conan O'Brien accepted the Mark Twain Prize for Humor during a ceremony at the Kennedy Center where comedians slammed Donald Trump for recent changes.
John Mulaney, Sarah Silverman, David Letterman, Stephen Colbert, Will Ferrell, and more took aim at Donald Trump's takeover of the venue while honoring O'Brien's achievements in comedy Adam Sandler also made an appearance to perform Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World,” while Will Ferrell joked that he almost didn’t make it to the ceremony because he was “supposed to be shutting down the Department of Education.” When the man of the hour took the stage to address the audience, he momentarily put the humor on pause as he reflected on the values that the award namesake, Mark Twain, held.
