Colleen Hoover’s ‘Verity’ From Director Michael Showalter Sets May 2026 Theatrical Release
Amazon MGM Studios' film adaptation of the Colleen Hoover-penned psychological thriller "Verity" will be released wide in theaters on May 15, 2026.
The current script is written by Nick Antosca after previous versions by Hoover and Lauren Levine; Hillary Seitz; Angela LaManna; and Will Honley and April Maguire. “Struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh is hired as a ghostwriter for renowned author Verity Crawford under mysterious circumstances, but her assignment takes a dark turn after discovering chilling autobiographical notes,” the film’s official logline reads. Sources close to the project tell Variety the release date was selected to provide counterprogramming for the male-skewing tentpoles also debuting in May, including “The Mandalorian & Grogu” and “Avengers: Doomsday.”
