Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update has jokes aplenty about Morgan Wallen's abrupt departure last week as the show's credits began rolling.
Capping off a solid Weekend Update was the first recurrence of the segment featuring Marcello Hernandez and Jane Wickline as Grant and Alyssa, “the couple you can’t believe are together.” With the former nearly breaking multiple times and the latter’s razor-sharp deadpan delivery, the bit was an instant crowdpleaser. While engaging the crowd in a call-and-response, Nwodim accidentally got the audience to curse, making it past the typical network censors. “These men ain’t what?” she said, as the crowd audibly shouted “sh–,” prompting Jost to wave his arms around and exclaim, as Nwodim ad-libbed “They’re gonna fire you” and “be mad at y’all.”
