Colin Firth Circling Steven Spielberg Event Film
Colin Firth is in talks to join Emily Blunt in Steven Spielberg's next movie.
It’s unclear who the Oscar-winning actor will play or what the movie is even about, though it has been described as an “event film,” and the fact that is has been slated to open in the summer of 2026 suggests it will be a return to the kind of blockbusters that made Spielberg a household name. Spielberg cooked up the story and David Koepp, who wrote “Jurassic Park” and the first “Mission: Impossible,” penned the script. Firth won an Oscar for his performance as King George VI in “The King’s Speech” and was nominated for another for his work as a grieving professor in “A Single Man.” He also starred in “Kingsman: The Secret Service” as a suave agent who kicks ass in Savile Row suits, and in the “Bridget Jones”franchise as a haughty lawyer who becomes romantically entangled with a compulsive diarist (Renée Zellweger).
