Colin Farrell's Father Eamon Farrell Dies at 83 After 'a Long Illness'

Colin Farrell's father Eamon Farrell died on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 in Dublin, Ireland at 83, according to a death notice and an announcement made by the professional soccer club Shamrock Rovers, whom Eamon played for in the 1960s.

Eamon "passed peacefully, after a long illness bravely borne, in the loving care of his family and the excellent staff of the Whitworth Ward, Beaumont Hospital," in Dublin, Ireland, read the notice. The Dublin-based professional soccer club Shamrock Rovers also confirmed Eamon's death in an Instagram post on Thursday, April 10. "Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam," the club added in Irish; the phrase translates to "May his soul rest in peace."
