CNN Says There’s “Nothing Illegal” About Reporting On ICE Sighting App As Trump Administration Threatens Network With DOJ Investigation

Trump administration officials threatened the network with prosecution.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told reporters on Tuesday that “we’re working with the Department of Justice to see if we can prosecute them for that. The report from CNN’s Clare Duffy on Monday was on the app ICEBlock, featuring an interview with its developer, Joshua Aaron. “My officers and agents are already facing a 500% increase in assaults, and going on live television to announce an app that lets anyone zero in on their locations is like inviting violence against them with a national megaphone,” Lyons said in his statement.
