One of the UK’s leading cinema chains, Cineworld, has announced the closure of six venures across the country, as part of a major restructuring plan. The company says this move is to ensure the long-term future of the UK business, and is beginning a consultation process with employees at the affected sites. As noted in the Sky News report, “Cineworld grew under the leadership of the Greidinger family into a global giant of the industry, acquiring chains including Regal in the US in 2018.”
