Cillian Murphy says he would reprise his role as infamous gangster Tommy Shelby in potential Peaky Blinders movie as Oppenheimer star admits he is 'totally' on board with film adaptation of hit BBC drama

Cillian murphy has revealed he would reprise his role as infamous gangster Tommy Shelby should BBC hit series Peaky Blinders hit the cinemas.

Speaking today on Desert Island Discs, the 47-year-old Hollywood sensation admits he was ‘relieved’ when the BBC drama ended in 2022 – but is now ‘totally’ on board with a movie adaptation. Peaky Blinders launched in 2013 and garnered huge audiences both in Britain and overseas, attracting roles for silver-screen stars such as Tom Hardy and Anya Taylor-Joy. Murphy’s remarks will be seized upon by fans as the clearest indication yet that a movie adaptation is on its way – which was further fuelled when the Oppenheimer star was last week spotted drinking in a pub with Knight.
