Christine McGuinness left shaking in confrontation with ‘rude’ heckler after personal attack

Christine McGuinness was forced to defend herself after heckler called autism "nonsense" and "a label" in verbal attack at the launch of BBC2's Pilgrimage: The Road Through North Wales

She found the experience magical - until she attended the show's press launch and was confronted by a rude heckler who repeatedly shouted out that autism spectrum disorder (ASD) was "nonsense" and "a label". The confrontation came about because on the show Christine found a kindred spirit in Friday Night Dinner star Tom Rosenthal, who reminded her of her son Leo.
