Christina Applegate said food poisoning from takeout salad left her ill amid multiple sclerosis battle: 'Someone else's poop went into my mouth and I ate it'

The 52-year-old actress opened up about the series of events on the latest edition of her MeSsy podcast Tuesday, titled 'Can I Be Honest?'

The Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead actress set the stage as she explained how she got COVID-19 from a friend who she believes contracted the virus from a trip to a bowling alley. Applegate said a stool sample test she underwent led to a diagnosis of sapovirus, which the National Institutes of Health says is typically resolved within a week, with symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea. Applegate told People last month that incontinence marks one of the difficulties of everyday life while battling MS, making diapers an essential item to have on hand.
