In a new interview with Paper magazine, the 43-year-old pop icon addressed a question about shattering expectations and riling up the general public with the release of her 2002 Stripped single "Dirrty," which marked a notable (and erotic) departure from the image she portrayed on her self-titled 1999 debut album. In a prior interview with Glamour, Aguilera elaborated on her feelings on her earlier image, saying that she didn't "love the bubblegum thing, where you had to play a virgin but not act like one,” she recalled.
