Christina Aguilera Signs With 5020 Records, Ending 26 Years With RCA

Christina Aguilera has signed with Latin label 5020 Records, Variety can confirm.

Fans have been speculating over the past few months that the powerhouse singer had parted ways with RCA, the label that she’s called home for the entirety of her career, after 5020’s logo appeared on her official website. The 43-year-old was initially signed to RCA after Ron Fair, then senior vice president at the label, listened to her demo tape of Whitney Houston’s “Run to You” in 1997. Her eponymous debut arrived in 1999, thrusting her into the spotlight on the back of the chart-topping singles “Genie in a Bottle,” “What a Girl Wants” and “Come on Over Baby (All I Want Is You).” “ Christina Aguilera ” bowed atop the Billboard 200, and set the stage for the Spanish-language follow-up “Mi Reflejo” the following year.
