Christina Aguilera reveals music bosses complained she got 'thicker' as she aged and preferred her as a 'skinny teenager' as she talks body-shaming in new Glamour cover story


The Genie In A Bottle hitmaker, 43, is the magazine's August cover star - 25 years after her iconic pop debut.

After hanging up her mouse ears in 1996, Christina recorded the theme tune for Disney movie Mulan which helped propel her to fame with her self-titled debut album the following year. But the pressure to portray a clean cut look all the time was leaving her burnt out, and determined to reclaim her sexuality and break norms she later carved out a decidedly raunchier brand of pop than her peers. She released two more albums before achieving critical acclaim once again with her fourth record, Stripped, which includes singles Dirrty, Beautiful, Fighter, Can't Hold Us Down and The Voice Within.
