Chris Pine's Parents Show Their Support at Premiere of His Directorial Debut, Poolman — See the Family Pic!
Chris Pine was joined in L.A. by his parents, Robert Pine and Gwynne Gilford, at the premiere of his movie 'Poolman,' which marks his directorial debut
Speaking with PEOPLE during the premiere, Robert, 82, recalls Chris realizing he wanted to be an actor, even thought he "never mentioned" it while growing up. As for what inspired him to get behind the camera for Poolman, "I think I just got to a point in my career where I was bored and frustrated, and I've been doing a lot of the similar things and this really made me happy," explains the Into the Woods star. Robert told PEOPLE on Wednesday that he envies his son's ability to "memorize dialogue" as, in contrast, the CHiPs star says it "takes me a long time to do it."
