Chris Pine says he 'hated' working as a restaurant host in early days of his acting career: 'I was NOT a people person'

Chris Pine was recently asked what the early days of his acting career were like before his 'earth-shattering' role in 2004's Princess Diaries sequel.

In a recent interview with Sunday Today, Pine looked back at his big break in Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, where he played Anne Hathaway's love interest. 'I was driving on the freeway and I was in my 1972 BMW that I'd had since I was 16, no air conditioning, it was the height of summer... and I was on my little Verizon tiny flip phone, my silver one, and I got a call from my agents that I booked the job,' he recalled. The handsome star was hired to play Nicholas Devereaux, a young man seeking to use an antiquated and sexist law to take the throne from Anne Hathaway's Mia Thermopolis.
