Chris Brown Granted $6.7 Million Bail on Alleged Nightclub Attack Charge
Chris Brown was granted a $6.7 million bail after he was charged last week in an alleged London nightclub attack in February 2023.
Following Brown’s arrest in Manchester, England on a charge of causing grievous bodily harm last week, a British judge initially ruled that the singer be held without bail due to the “extremely serious” allegation that Brown beat music producer Amadou “Abe” Diaw with a tequila bottle and then stomped on him, resulting in a hospitalization and, later, a $16 million lawsuit. As part of his bail conditions, Brown was ordered to surrender his passport (except when touring), reside at a specific address known to the court, and neither contact Diaw nor visit the London nightclub where the alleged assault took place, the BBC reports. This past weekend, rapper and Brown associate HoodyBaby was also arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm with intent for the February 2023 attack.
