On Friday, Cheryl, who was in a high-profile relationship with Liam, 31, between 2016 and 2018, broke her silence on the tragedy in a statement on Instagram, where she said that their son has to “face the reality of never seeing his father again” after the One Direction star fatally fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. Sharing a black and white picture of Liam in bed with his son, Bear, Cheryl said: “As I try to navigate this earth shattering event, and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time, I’d like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being.
