Cheryl Burke Says She’s “In Complete Shock” About ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Pro Artem Chigvintsev’s Arrest
Cheryl Burke said she was in 'complete shock' about 'Dancing With the Stars' pro Artem Chigvintsev's arrest on suspicions of domestic violence.
“I hesitate to smile right now because of the current news … which I am in complete shock about,” she began in an Aug. 30 episode of her iHeart podcast Sex, Lies and Spray Tans. The dancer, who has competed alongside Chigvintsev for a significant chunk of the show’s airing, described him as “someone who I’ve grown up with,” as they used to live together in her family’s home in the Bay Area. As previously reported by Deadline, Chigvintsev was arrested early on Aug. 29 in Napa County, Calif. on California penal code 273.5(a), which makes it illegal to injure a spouse, cohabitant or fellow parent in an act of domestic violence.
