Cher will perform at amfAR ’s annual Cannes Film Festival gala on May 23, Variety can exclusively report. “I have such wonderful memories of being invited to host one of the first amfAR events in Cannes by my friend Elizabeth Taylor,” the music superstar said in a statement Monday. The gala will take place at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc and feature additional special performances, a live auction with one-of-a-kind luxury goods, experiences and art, and a fashion show of the world’s top designers, curated by long-time amfAR supporter Carine Roitfeld.
