In her new book, 'Cher: The Memoir, Part 1,' the entertainment legend looks back on her breaking point with husband Sonny Bono, revealing that after considering leaping from a hotel balcony in Las Vegas, she decided, "I can just leave him."

The pair rose to fame with their hit song "I Got You Babe" before finding success with their variety show The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour. However, the thought of her loved ones — her then-young child Chaz, her mother Georgia and her sister Georganne — stopped Cher, who writes, "things like this could make people who look up to me feel that it’s a viable solution."
