The Good Morning Britain co-presenter, 48, said she feared giving people a reason to 'doubt' her as she rose through the ranks of broadcasting, in way that the men in her position didn't have to.

The Good Morning Britain co-presenter, 48, said she feared giving people a reason to ‘doubt’ her as she rose through the ranks of broadcasting, in way that the men in her position didn’t have to. She said: ‘But I'm glad that things have improved since then; once upon a time, female political correspondents were rare, but now women do the same breadth of jobs as men and are rewarded with the same status, credibility and authority.’ She joined ITV’s Good Morning Britain in 2014 and is now part of an all-female presenting line-up, including Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh, with a rotating cast of male co-hosts.
