Charlie Polinger’s ‘The Plague,’ Starring Joel Edgerton, Boarded by AGC, Cinetic and UTA Ahead of Cannes Premiere (EXCLUSIVE)
“The Plague” will be launched to buyers in Cannes with UTA and Cinetic co-selling the U.S. rights and AGC Intl. handling the rest of the world.
The film, written and directed by Polinger, stars Joel Edgerton(“Boy Erased,” “Black Mass,” “Loving”) and an ensemble of young newcomers including Everett Blunck, Kayo Martin and Kenny Rasmussen. It is produced by Lizzie Shapiro (“Shiva Baby,” “Sasquatch Sunset”), Lucy McKendrick, Edgerton (“The King,” “The Gift,” “Boy Erased”), Steven Schneider (“Strange Darling”), Roy Lee (“Barbarian”) and Derek Dauchy (“Late Night With the Devil”). “The Plague” follows the success of Spooky Pictures’ and Image Nation’s first productions, including horror “Late Night With the Devil,” which became IFC Films’ highest-grossing opening weekend ever, exceeding $10 million at the U.S. box office.
