Charli XCX Is Convinced She ‘Wasn’t Even on the Grammys’ Radar’ Before ‘Brat’
Charli XCX said that she "wasn't even on the Grammys' radar" before she released 'Brat.' Get the details.
Charli XCX is riding the Brat wave all the way to this year’s Grammys, where she’s nominated for seven awards — and she’s fully aware that she owes it all to the album that made her a household name. In a W Magazine cover story published Thursday (Jan. 30), the pop star reflected on picking up nods in 2025 for album of the year and best dance/electronic album for Brat, record of the year and best music video for “360,” best pop solo performance for “Apple,” best dance pop recording for “Von Dutch” and best pop duo/group performance for the Billie Eilish remix of “Guess.” The honors come a full decade after Charli was last recognized by the Recording Academy, picking up her first two Grammy nominations in 2015 for her hit Iggy Azalea collaboration, “Fancy”; record of the year ultimately went to Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” that year, while best pop/duo went to A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera’s “Say Something.” Now, the “Boom Clap” singer is one of the academy’s second-most nominated artists of 2025, tying with Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone with seven nods apiece.
