Charley Scalies, ‘The Wire’ and ‘The Sopranos’ Actor, Dead at 84


Charley Scalies, actor who appeared in 'The Wire' and 'Sopranos,' has died at age 84.

Charley Scalies, who starred in the second season of The Wire and also appeared on The Sopranos, died May 1 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Scalies played dockworker and union member Thomas “Horseface” Pakusa in The Wire ’s second season, appearing in all 12 episodes in 2003. He made his big screen debut in 1995 in the James Foley-directed Two Bits starring Al Pacino, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Jerry Barone.
