Charles' return to public duties 'will have inspired Kate - he is very proud of her'


Three months after his cancer diagnosis, the monarch is ready to get back to the work he loves in a move that will no doubt 'inspire Kate' who he is 'very proud of', says royal correspondent

The progress comes as a major boost for the monarch, 75, who shared the news of his health battle on 6 February and was forced to put aside his immense work ethic and follow doctor’s orders. It mirrors the warmth of the images taken on the couple’s wedding day as they left their religious blessing at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, showing the pair smiling warmly as they walk arm-in-arm. Although he has continued to carry out some Privy Council duties, as well as hold weekly audiences with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, his period of enforced rest will have left him frustrated.
