Charles Phillips Resigns From Paramount Global Board
Charles Phillips Jr., who led the Paramount Global board's special committee that reached a deal with Skydance Media, is exiting the board.
When deal talks broke down in June between Skydance and Shari Redstone’s National Amusements Inc. over taking control of Paramount, Phillips had emerged as vocal opponent to the pact, Variety reported. Ahead of Paramount’s expected merger with Skydance, Phillips is leaving, he said, to devote more time to Recognize, the investment company he co-founded and for which he serves as managing partner, according to an SEC filing Friday. Phillips is a member of the board of directors of Bloomberg LP, American Express, Compass Inc. and the Apollo Theater.
