Charity Lawson Recalls ‘Damaging’ Bullying on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ Believes Her Race Affected the Show’s Outcome: ‘It Was So Much Worse Than Bachelor and Bachelorette’


Charity Lawson says she was bullied worse during 'DWTS' than she was during 'The Bachelorette.'

Lawson, partnered with Artem Chigvintsev, came in fourth place during her season on the reality competition series but experienced a great amount of bullying, she explained on the episode. Lawson began to cry during the interview and said that while she can only speak to her own experience, she thought it was important to note because of “the difference that I have to go through this life as a Black woman and being on a reality TV show. Burke, who competed on 25 seasons of the ABC series, added that the video packages are part of the politics that go into the show — something Lawson agreed with, noting she was simply answering producers’ questions in her interviews.
