Charges Dropped Against Golfer Scottie Scheffler After PGA Arrest
Scottie Scheffler was arrested on second-degree assault of a police officer, among other offenses, before round 2 of the PGA Championship
ESPN reports that Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell stated in a court hearing — which Scheffler, 27, did not attend — that prosecutors would not be moving forward with the case against the athlete. On May 17, Louisville Metro Police arrested Scheffler as he attempted to evade a traffic stop and gain entry to the Valhalla Golf Club for round 2 of the PGA Championship. Us Weekly confirmed Scheffler, 27, was detained by the Louisville Metro Police on Friday, May 17, after an accident involving a struck pedestrian led to local law enforcement stopping the road outside the Valhalla Golf Club.
