Chappell Roan wows in glittering red gown as she headlines Kentuckiana Pride Festival - after emotional confession over rise to fame

Chappell Roan is having one heck of a summer. She's fresh off headlining the Kentuckiana Pride Festival in Louisville Saturday night, which sold out for the first time in the festival's history.

At Boston Calling Festival over Memorial Day weekend, the Femininomenon singer pulled bigger crowds than headliners including Ed Sheeran. This, paired with the Covid-19 pandemic, a break-up with a boyfriend of four years, a bipolar diagnosis and coming out as queer saw Chappell move back to Missouri with her parents and get a job at a drive-through donut shop. Then, she then landed a deal with Sony in 2022, released her debut album The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess in 2023 with Island Records and now she's playing on Bonnaroo's second-largest stage for hundreds of thousands of people.
