Channel Seven introduces world-first change to Australian Idol ahead of the 2024 season premiere

Australian Idol is returning to Channel Seven for another season next week.

Instead of first auditions proceeding directly to the next round, the contestants will have to perform a second time in front of judges Kyle Sandilands, Marcia Hines and Amy Shark in order to get a Golden Ticket. Marcia was part of the original judging panel on Australian Idol, alongside record executive Ian 'Dicko' Dickson and singer Mark Holden. An insider told Yahoo part of the reason behind the series makeover was to ensure next year's season had more focus on music than the behind the scenes drama.
