Channel 4 axes 'hugely expensive flop' which was created to compete with hit BBC reality TV show The Traitors: 'It won't come as a shock to anyone'

Channel 4 have confirmed they are axing expensive reality TV show Rise and Fall which was created as a rival for the BBC's The Traitors.

The 18-episode show came from the same production company as The Traitors, Studio Lambert, and also featured two groups of people in one space competing to get hold of a large cash jackpot. 'There was a small chance that they might have had another stab at making Rise and Fall a hit, but in the current climate C4 can't justify shelling out millions on a project that is unlikely to get the viewing figures.' Following 18 episodes of triumphant rises, brutal falls and hard graft, just six Rulers remained at the top – Matt, Moses, Eddy, Rossi, Ramona and Sydney.
