The British rapper recently claimed that he’s influenced streetwear here in the States, specifically having a hand in the popularity of the Nike Tech Fleece sweatsuit. In a clip posted on X by user @web_culture, Cench can be seen wearing a Nike Tech suit with his SYNA clothing logo printed on the upper right panel of the zip-up hoodie as he made the proclamation. Naturally, some folks on the Internet got upset and a huge debate ignited on X over the weekend pitting London and New York City against each other, with some users claiming to have rocked Nike Tech suits before anyone in the U.S. knew who the U.K. rapper was.
