Celine Dion Supported Director Irene Taylor, DP Nick Midwig Showing Her Stiff Person Syndrome Spasm In ‘I Am: Celine Dion’ – Contenders Documentary

In an awards-season interview, 'I Am: Celine Dion' director Irene Taylor and DP Nick Midwig discuss showing the singer's stiff person syndrome spasm on camera.

“We both stood back and assessed, like, ‘Are we in the way?’” Midwick said during Deadline’s awards-season event Contenders Documentary. Dion ultimately saw the scene in the finished film and confirmed Midwig’s suspicion that documenting her SPS attack was validating. Midwig used an ARRI Mini LF camera often used in Hollywood productions to bring a cinematic quality to Dion’s life.
