Celine Dion issues a warning against 'fake tracks' as her return to music is threatened


The singer, who was diagnosed with the incurable stiff-person syndrome in December 2022, made her comeback at the 2024 Paris Olympics after fearing she would never perform again.

Last week, record labels revealed how they are sending tens of thousands of ‘take-down’ requests each year to platforms hosting fake songs claiming to be by top artists. And the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), which represents the recording business worldwide, said it now had a team of 40 helping labels trawl the internet for clones. Detailing the impact, Celine added: 'Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I'm used to.'
