Doctor Who star John Barrowman has said he struggled with suicidal thoughts after he was embroiled in a scandal over exposing himself on the set of the sci-fi show
The Doctor Who star had previously acknowledged exposing himself on set, but had downplayed it as mere "tomfoolery" and "high-spirited behaviour" intended to entertain colleagues. "The thing was I couldn't do it because of my family and friends," he said, referencing his husband Scott Gill, whom he married in 2006.The controversy led to John losing his job on Dancing On Ice, and he expressed concerns about being "cancelled". When allegations about his behaviour on the set of Doctor Who emerged in 2021, he told The Guardian that his actions were intended as a joke to entertain colleagues backstage.
