CBC has renewed Canadian dramas 'Saint-Pierre', 'Allegiance', 'Wild Cards', 'Heartland' and 'Murdoch Mysteries'.
EXCLUSIVE: Canada ‘s CBC has renewed five series, including new procedural hit Saint-Pierre, with entertainment chief Sally Cato vowing the pubcaster would “continue to showcase homegrown storytelling.” The show – made by Blink49 Studios, Front Street Pictures and Piller/Segan in association with The CW – is a blue sky procedural with a comedic twist following a by-the-book cop (Giacomo Gianniotti) and a spirited con woman (Vanessa Morgan), who are partnered together to solve crimes. The show is set in early 1900s Toronto, where Detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) uses innovative forensic techniques to solve the city’s most perplexing murders.
