Cate Blanchett, Millie Bobby Brown & Colin Farrell Among Cannes Immersive Film Lineup
Cannes Film Festival runs May 14-25.
Meanwhile, the non-competitive works boast a stellar cast including Colin Farrell as the English voice in Gloomy Eyes, Jessica Chastain, Millie Bobby Brown, and Patti Smith in Spheres. Projects that will not be competing include the 2016 doc-thriller Notes on Blindness featuring writer and theologian John Hull, Missing Pictures: Naomi Kawase, Battlescar with Rosario Dawson in the lead, and Emperor, which will have Slow Horses’ Emma Cooke doing the English voice. The Cannes Festival has previously welcomed immersive works on a sporadic basis kicking off with Alejandro González Iñárritu, who made history at the 70th edition in 2017 with his ground-breaking virtual reality piece, Carne y Arena (Virtually Present, Physically Invisible).
