Cate Blanchett, 54, gets dramatic makeover for action-packed new role in Borderlands - as thrilling trailer is released

A flame-haired Cate Blanchett was barely recognizable after undergoing a dramatic hair transformation for her role as Lilith in her upcoming film Borderlands.

As her character embarks on a mission to find the missing daughter of Atlas (Edgar Ramírez) on planet Pandora, she teams up with 'a band of outcasts,' according to People. Borderlands is based on a role-playing shooter game that takes place in a space Western science fantasy setting, created and produced by Gearbox Software. Blanchett is now among a small circle of elite actors who have been nominated for an Academy Award eight times, joining the likes of Marlon Brando, Judi Dench, Geraldine Page, Peter O'Toole and Glenn Close.
