Cate Blanchett and Alfonso Cuarón’s Erotic Drama Series ‘Disclaimer’ Makes Venice Audience Go Wild With 5-Minute Standing Ovation

Cate Blanchett earned a standing ovation at Venice Film Festival at the premiere of Alfonso Cuarón's new series 'Disclaimer.'

Cate Blanchett charmed Venice Film Festival on Thursday night as Alfonso Cuarón’s new raunchy Apple TV+ series “ Disclaimer ” received a 5-minute standing ovation. Earlier in the day at the “Disclaimer” press conference, Blanchett was asked about the dress she wore to the premiere of “The Apprentice” at Cannes Film Festival in May — the colors of which many interpreted as a being pro-Palestinian statement — and whether something similar could be expected in Venice. “Disclaimer,” a seven-episode psychological thriller series based on Renée Knight’s 2015 book of the same name, stars Blanchett as a famed documentary journalist who discovers she is the primary character in a novel that threatens to reveal her deepest, darkest secret.
