Catalan Titles Set to Impress at Annecy 2024
Catalan titles feature all across this year's Annecy Animation Festival, demonstrating the strength and depth of the region's animation industry.
Screening in this year’s non-competitive Annecy Presents section, “Buffalo Kids” is a CG family feature produced by Jordi Gasull’s Barcelona and Madrid-based 4Cats Pictures along with Atresmedia Cine, Anangu Grup and Mogambo Entertainment. Award-winning Spanish filmmaker Salvador Simó (“Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles,” “Dragonkeeper”) will host an early look at his feature project “Caramel’s World,” a story about a childhood friendship between a child and a camel in a Saharan refugee camp. Two Catalan projects will feature in this year’s Women in Animation From Spain Pitches: Sílvia Cortés’ “Jasmine & Jambo” (Teidees Audiovisual) and Angie Cornejo’s ” Wixi Against the Binary Lens” (Mil Monos Cine).
