Casualty fans are in for a tearjerker on Saturday, 16 March, as Derek Thompson finally bows out of the BBC medical drama after nearly 40 years on screen as Charlie Fairhead. His final episode is expected to offer some treats and surprises for regular viewers, including flashback scenes and some familiar faces returning to mark his exit. Outside of Charlie's stabbing, the other big storyline of his exit episodes is missing woman Mel Sinclair, a victim of domestic abuse who is played by Amanda Ryan.
